As soon as I let off the accelerator I hear it clunk, then when I get back into the accelerator it clunks again. U joints all seem good, but can move the shaft ... He inspected the exhaust manifold gaskets to make sure there was no soot or leaking cause that will make the tick. Mine was not leaking and apparently this is kinda a normal noise, lol. Pop-off pressures are (don't quote me on this) around 1300-1700lbs. for most diesel engines IIRC, so they can get a little noisy, especially when it's cold out. WebNov 28, 2024 · It's normal, all Powerstrokes make the same or a similar noise, as a matter of fact, most all diesels do. It's referred to as "Typewriter Noise". The only reason it stands out on the 6.7L is because the engine is so quiet in comparison to previous Powerstrokes.
